THYRICON Capacitor Switching Modules

ThyriCon capacitor switching modules are designed to be used as the switching element in reactive power compensation systems where the reactive power requirement rapidly changes and the current-voltage fluctuations are not desired.

ThyriCon, switching at the zero crossing instants, prevents inrush current on capacitors and voltage transients due to switching. In this way, the problems that may arise due to reactive power compensation switching is eliminated in the plants where CNC / PLC and sensitive equipment such as computers exists.

ThyriCon offers an effective solution for the reactive power compensation of the loads with wide range and rapidly changing reactive power requirements such as punto welding machines, cranes and arc furnaces. Thanks to the capability of switching in a short time less than 20 msec, ThyriCon provides good results in systems where the performance of traditional reactive power compensation systems are not sufficient.
